In addition to recycling more and more materials within our own group of companies, we are taking increasingly bigger steps towards working in a more environmentally friendly way. The Verbo Group recently put four electric forklifts from Linde Motrac into operation: two large, type E50, and two small, type E25.
Choosing electric forklifts is an important step in our strategy to reduce our CO2 emissions. We have been working with the electric forklifts for a few months now and immediately notice the benefits, including that the air in the warehouse feels a lot cleaner.

The pros and cons of electric forklifts
The electric forklifts come in two versions: one with a reach fork and one with a rotating roll clamp. The rotation of the roll clamp on the electric trucks is a full 360 degrees, which is much more flexible than the 270 degrees of rotation offered by the gas-powered trucks. This makes it much easier to maneuver in tight spaces and ensures faster and more efficient movement of paper rolls, up to 2,500 kg and a diameter of 170 cm.
Of course, there are still situations where we work with gas-powered forklifts, especially when lifting the really large rolls of paper of over 180 cm in diameter.
As for the height, the electric forklifts can also reach quite high, although they do not reach the maximum height that the gas-powered forklifts can reach. However, for most tasks, the height of the electric trucks is more than sufficient. We have already switched quite a few jobs to the new electric machines.
Performance and Durability
On a full charge, the electric forklifts can last between 7 and 9 hours, depending on the intensity of use. The battery can be quickly recharged, thanks to the solar panels on the roof , and we have found that using the electric forklifts also contributes to a cleaner working environment. Our employees notice less air pollution and noise, which improves the overall working experience.

Future Plans
Although the electric forklifts already offer many advantages for us, there is still work to be done. We will continue to work with gas-powered trucks for the really large rolls of paper, but we are hopeful that electric alternatives will also be available for this in the future. Our focus is not only on purchasing more sustainable machines, but also on optimizing processes to source even more of our raw materials internally, further reduce our energy consumption and make our operations even more efficient and environmentally friendly.
The introduction of the electric forklifts is just one step in our broader mission to contribute to our mission of Zero Paper Waste, as described in our Professional Waste Solution. We look forward to embracing more initiatives like this in the future and further improving our environmental performance.
