In 2022, we wrote enthusiastically about our first steps with solar energy in the blog post “Let the sun shine”. Since then, a lot has happened in the field of sustainability within Verbo Group, as you could also read in our updates on electric forklifts and responsible workwear. Today we would like to look back, and also look ahead, with an update on the energy yield from our solar panels, since 2025 has started surprisingly sunny.
A powerful start to the year
Where January is usually not known as a very sunny month, 2025 brought us a positive surprise. Thanks to the exceptionally nice weather in the first months of this year, our solar panels have already generated 128.78 MWh of electricity as of May 1, 2025. For comparison: after the installation in March 2022, we arrived at 427.48 MWh in total for that year, in sunny 2023 at 444.44 MWh, and in 2024 at 405.22 MWh.
The first four months of 2025 already show a striking peak, especially in March and April. April took the crown with a yield of almost 60 MWh. This is almost the level of the peak months in previous years such as June and July.
The numbers in brief
2022 total yield: 427.48 MWh
2023 total yield: 444.44 MWh
2024 total yield: 405.22 MWh
2025 to April: 128.78 MWh
Total solar power yield to date: 1.41 GWh
The Power of the Sun: Why It Matters
The fact that we have already achieved more than 29 percent of our annual yield of peak year 2023 in the first four months of 2025 shows how valuable renewable energy is – especially in combination with favorable weather conditions. And that yield does not remain without impact.
Today, our solar panels provide about 20 percent of our total energy consumption. The remaining 80 percent still comes from the regular grid ('gray' electricity), because our energy needs are still very much greater than the generation capacity of our solar panels. A good start, but there is still a long road ahead. We will continue to work on smart solutions to increase the share of green energy, with the goal of ultimately generating 100 percent of our energy consumption sustainably.
The impact on the environment is also significant:
667.81 tons of CO₂ emissions prevented
562.37 tons of coal saved
Equal to planting 913 trees

A future full of solar energy
These results reinforce our decision to continue investing in renewable energy. We will continue to optimize our installations, closely monitor technological developments and look at how we can use our sustainably generated energy even more intelligently – for example, for charging our electric forklifts or other applications within our company.
What does this mean for our partners?
For our partners, this means that they work with an organisation that really takes sustainability seriously. They choose a partner that works towards a cleaner future.
